We couldn’t help sharing this gorgeous bench made by Ed. It’s made of black walnut sanded to a beautiful finish and paired up with hairpin legs. We thought this was a perfect example of what can be done with hairpin legs, for an original indoor / outdoor piece.
Black walnut is a highly prized wood that can fetch big prices. It is a heavy and strong wood though can be easily worked. It can be expensive and hard to come by so if you find a good specimen, jump on it! As you can see from Ed’s bench the wood is dark and fine-grained, making a beautiful and durable piece. Ed has rounded all the edges of the wood creating a smooth, weathered look that will make sitting on this bench a pleasure.
